Casting ins and outs on All My Children

Jill Larson (Opal) has signed a new contract! Larson was put on recurring status in 2006 and has worked on and off since then. But it turns out that Opal's wisdom is sorely missed in Pine Valley. The show signed her to a new long term contract and will be relocating her to Los Angeles with the rest of the cast. Larson couldn't be more delighted.
Actor Finn Wittrock has been bumped up from recurring status to a contract role, so look for more of Damon when AMC hits Los Angeles in January.
Julia Barr (Brooke), the 30-year fan favorite who left in 2006 after she was asked to go recurring, has agreed to come back for the 40th celebration but that's not all. Soapdom has just learned that Julia Barr returns to All My Children in February. We are not sure at this time if it is in a recurring role, or contact. We will keep you posted.Walt Willey returns as Jackson Montgomery for the 40th anniversary party. But guess what? We've learned that he'll be staying around after the party! Wonder what he'll have to say about Erica and Ryan!
We were right! Cady McClain is on her way back as Dixie Martin. Watch for her to hit Pine Valley this March. She will figure in a storyline with Tad. Whodda thunk, right? Find out more.
